In this article, I will explain how Amazon transfers payments, how to read payment reports, when to expect Amazon payments, and how to access your funds using Amazon Pay.
Read the whole article and find out some tips on how to get paid faster.
Can You Transfer Amazon Balance to Bank?
Amazon uses an Automated Clearing House (ACH) or electronic funds transfer to deliver money to your bank account. For Amazon to transfer the balance into your bank account, you need to make sure you have settled your seller account accordingly and have a positive balance.
After Amazon initiates a payment, it may take up to five business days for the funds to arrive in your bank account.
Amazon’s payments may appear on your bank statement as coming from multiple sources. Amazon Payments, Inc. processes payments for transactions in which buyers agree to pay for products or services before or on the day they are delivered.
Amazon Services LLC is responsible for making payments for transactions in which customers agree to pay after receiving goods or services.
In your Seller Account settings, you need to provide a valid bank account as the Deposit Method before Amazon may pay you. They are unable to make payments to an online payment method like PayPal or to a credit card.
How to Read Amazon Payments Report?
You can download the payments or settlements report from Seller Central. Note that the downloaded reports are tab-delimited text files, which may be hard to read. The best and easiest way to read the Payments report is to save it on your computer.
Open it using your preferred database application or spreadsheet. Doing this will make it easier for you to manipulate, summarize, or reformat the data any way you want.
When Will Amazon Pay Me?
To find out when and how much Amazon will pay you, you need to go to Payments Report and then Statement View. Amazon automatically updates the information so that sellers can always see the updated amount on the Payments report.
If you are a Professional seller, Amazon sends out payments every two weeks. Individual sellers are paid at different frequencies since they have lower sales. Read my article on how often does Amazon pay to learn more about it.
You can also see your current payment information in this tool. There will be times when the Payments report will display an Unavailable balance. Don’t worry. It’s normal when you sell on Amazon. The unavailable balance usually means that your funds have been reserved.
Reserved fund is to make sure that you have enough money on hand so that when buyers request refunds or other chargebacks, you have enough funds to use.
Now, you may be wondering why the payment from Amazon is not yet reflected on your bank account. The reason for this is that it usually takes up to 5 business days for the payment to reflect on your bank.
If it’s been more than five business days since the payment was made, you can monitor it using the Bank Transfer ID available at the top of your Payments report. Your bank can utilize this ID to look into where your money is.
If you anticipated being paid but did not receive it, go to Seller Central’s Account Health page to learn more about payment policies and your account’s performance. Another reason is that you may have an unavailable balance.
How to Access Funds In Seller Central Using Amazon Pay
One way to get paid for your sales on Amazon is by using Amazon Pay. Follow the steps below to find out how to access your funds in Seller Central using Amazon Pay.

You can set up a checking account by following the steps below.
- Log in to your Seller Central account.
- Go to Settings and click Account Info
- Click Deposit Method and then go to View Details. If you haven’t included a bank account, click on Add instead.
- Choose an existing bank account or choose Use a New Bank Account
- Input your bank account info. Don’t forget to enter the routing number and bank name, then click on Submit.
If you choose to add a new bank account, you have to wait for at least three days for Amazon’s automated deposits to clear and for your bank to accept them.
Have a Valid Credit Card Number
Check that the credit card number in Seller Central is correct. This is essential for disbursements to your bank account to be made.
To review your credit card details that are connected to your account, you can do this by logging into the Seller Central, then go to Settings and visit the Account Info Page.
Use Amazon Pay Buttons
Sell your items using the “Amazon Pay” buttons and only send to the addresses provided by the customer. Add the “Amazon Pay” buttons on your Amazon store to sell your products and ship all orders quickly. This is one way to achieve customer loyalty.
Capture Payments
It is important that you capture all payments for all your orders. This is important as it is a requirement when collecting payment from the buyer.
Once you’ve shipped your item, you’ll need to Capture payment to get money from the customer. Using the information provided in the customer’s order, use the Amazon Pay APIs to collect payment from them.
You will not be paid for the order if you do not capture payment. You will no longer be able to Authorize any further payments after 180 calendar days have passed since the order was placed.
